I love Valentine’s Day! Even though I don’t have a human significant other, the Center has become my significant other of late. The idea of spending a day in love is fantastic. Why do we only dedicate one day for this? Why don’t we do this every day?
Love is the one and only Truth in our human experience. Many of us were taught to love others as we love ourselves. I don’t know about you, but if I did that on some days, the world would not be a happy place! How about if we love others BECAUSE we love ourselves?
There are so many miracles happening around us. When we love who we are, we have the presence to notice the miracles. The laugh of a child, the twinkle in someone’s eye, the beauty of someone who is preparing to pass. Every moment on this earth is amazing and magical. Yesterday alone, I had at least four “serendipitous” events happen. When I stand in awe of these moments, I feel so blessed that I was chosen to be here on this earth at this time and I accepted this assignment. I love myself even more because I know that Spirit chose my soul to be here to do His work on earth.
Today is not about the cards, flowers and candy. Today is about a new start at a new way of being in the world. From this day forward tell the ones you love that they are important to you. Every day, wake up and tell yourself how important you are to you. When you look in the mirror, look yourself in the eyes and tell yourself how much you love you.
Today, I choose to unconditionally love myself. I have let go of perceived stress so that I can be present in what I need to accomplish. I am leaving my significant other (the Center) behind tonight and going to bed early. I honor myself so that I may honor you.
